From New York, direct flights to Cancún take about 4 hours 30 minutes with Delta, American, JetBlue and United. From Los Angeles, direct flights to Cancún take around 4 hours 45 minutes with Aeromexico, Alaska, United and Delta.
Local transportation to the event is convenient, with shuttles, taxis (expensive) and buses available from Cancún International Airport to the Playa del Carmen. It is a 45-minute drive by private shuttle, about an hour in a shared shuttle.
