Jennifer Young Wellness : Ear Acupuncture for Weight Management

Jennifer Young Wellness launches holistic answer to Ozempic: Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture for Weight Management

Jennifer Young, known as the ‘hormone guru’, has introduced a new weight management treatment touted as a holistic alternative to Ozempic. The Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture for Weight Management system is designed to address weight management on a hormonal level. Starting October 1, it will be available to the public at all Champneys spa locations across the UK.

This innovative treatment aims to assist clients by addressing hormonal imbalances that may contribute to weight gain or challenges in losing or gaining weight. It is linked to a decrease in waist circumference and other indicators of weight loss, has been shown to reduce hunger from dietary limitations, and may aid in regulating food intake.

Young is renowned for her contributions to hormone management in cancer treatment clients and menopausal women. Her deep understanding of hormones’ pivotal role in health and wellbeing inspired her to create a new treatment aiding those struggling with weight management without resorting to drugs.

Anorexiant medications like Ozempic, prescribed for obesity, target the brain to reduce appetite, stimulating the hypothalamic and limbic areas responsible for satiety. Auricular acupuncture, based on traditional acupuncture principles, involves inserting needles solely into the ear, activating up to 12 vital body points according to client needs, thereby balancing 14 hormones that regulate satiety, energy usage, metabolism and the sensations of pleasure and motivation.

Jennifer Young’s proprietary protocol begins with an initial consultation to identify potential hormone imbalances, which are then addressed through auricular acupuncture points. During the treatment, tiny needles are inserted into the ears to balance the hormones related to weight gain and loss.

While the patient relaxes with the needles in place, a specialist therapist massages their lower legs and feet. This deliberate touch focuses on the stomach and spleen meridians, among other areas, to enhance digestion.

Post-treatment, ear seeds are placed to maintain pressure on the acupuncture points without skin penetration. These can be removed by the client after three days by peeling off the plaster that holds the seed.

The Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture for Weight Management by Jennifer Young is available at all Champneys Spas from 1 October, cost £96.
