Unplugged, the pioneer of digital detox escapes in the UK, has announced the launch of six new cabins within the UK, alongside its first international cabin, Nala, nestled in the scenic Catalunya countryside in Spain.
The new Spanish cabin, Nala, offers guests the chance to immerse themselves in the stunning surroundings, featuring majestic mountain views, olive groves, and vineyards. True to Unplugged’s ethos, visitors will secure their devices in a special lockbox for three to four days, exchanging them for a classic Nokia phone for emergencies, along with a physical map, compass and a Polaroid camera.
“We are excited to bring the Unplugged experience to Spain – especially in the incredible surroundings that Cataluyna has to offer,” says Unplugged’s co- founder Hector Hughes. “Our first international cabin represents our commitment to helping people worldwide rediscover the joy of being present in the moment without the constant intrusion of digital devices – something which continues to be an overwhelming issue globally.”
This duration has been scientifically validated as the ideal time to experience the full benefits of a genuine digital detox, which includes improved sleep, decreased anxiety and stress, enhanced focus and productivity, better mood and deeper human connection.
Furthermore, Unplugged is increasing its presence in the UK with six additional cabins, raising the total to 30. The expansion includes three cabins in North Wales—Bronwyn, Merlin, and Ziggy—another named Herbie near Tarporley in Cheshire, and two forthcoming cabins, Stanley and Willow, near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, providing a variety of settings for guests seeking a digital retreat.
Each escape requires a minimum stay of three nights, which is the scientifically established duration to experience the advantages of a digital detox. Prices begin at £390 per cabin. To learn more about the cabins and to reserve your escape, please visit the Unplugged website.
