A temple is a place for religious or spiritual worship and various religions congregate in them worldwide such as Buddhists, Hindus and Jains. The ancient Egyptians also worshipped in temples.

Abu Simbel

Nothing prepares you for the first sight of Abu Simbel temples in Egypt on the edge of the Sudan. They form part of the Nubian Monuments which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temples were carved out of two huge rocks in the 13th Century BC, and were built to commemorate the lives of Ramesses II and Queen Nefertari.

Brihadeeswara Temple

The Hindu Brihadeeswara Temple is the largest temple in India and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and is noted for there being no shadow of the sun at noon. It is located in the city of Tamil Nadu.

Pha That Luang

Situated in the centre of Ventiane, the capital of Laos, Pha That Luang is a gold covered Buddhist wat originally built in the 11th Century. It is considered by many Laotians to be the most important monument in the country.
